'For the Record' Pays Musical Tribute to Film Directors

Series returns to Ace Hotel Palm Springs starting with Penny, Garry Marshall

One of Hollywood’s most famous brother-sister directorial pair, Garry and Penny Marshall, will be the basis of “For the Record”, a Los Angeles-based live concert series returning March 5-6 to the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs.

“For The Record: The Marshalls” stars a rotating cast from stage, screen and music performing songs from the Marshall films’ soundtracks that include “Oh, Pretty Woman,” “Heart And Soul,” “It Must've Been Love,” “Girls Just Want To Have Fun,” “All I Have To Do Is Dream,” “This Used To Be My Playground,” “Wind Beneath My Wings,” “I Believe In You And Me” and more.

This season continues with “For The Record: Coen Brothers” on April 23-24 and finishes with “For The Record: Robert Zemeckis” on June 18-19. The Coen Brothers will include music and moments from “O Brother Where Art Thou”, “The Big Lebowski”, “Fargo”, and “Hudsucker Proxy”, while the Zemeckis show will include music and moments from “Back To The Future”, “Forrest Gump”, “Death Becomes Her”, “Roger Rabbit” and “Romancing The Stone”.

Tickets can be purchased individually or as a three-show package for the entire season. Individual general admission tickets are available for $30 each, individual preferred table seating tickets are available for $40 each, individual 3-show pass general admission seating is available for $69 each and individual 3-show pass preferred table seating is available for $99 each.

Doors to each performance will open at 6 p.m. and shows begin at 8 p.m. Ace Hotel will create a unique food and drink menu for each show, and new to this season will be a required two-item minimum purchase for each patron.
