Free First Friday at The Galen – Nov. 7, 2014

Site Staff Social Scene

On November 7, Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert, The Galen and the Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden debuted First Friday at The Galen. The evening began with docent tours of the current exhibition, A Grand Adventure: American Art of the West, followed with the Sundance-screened documentary film Running Wild – The Life of Dayton O. Hyde. At the conclusion of the film, live entertainment took place in the Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden with singer/songwriter Henry Wolfe, who made his mark as a musician and co-founder of the band Bravo Silva, and went on to produce his own EP’s. Wolfe engaged the audience with his simple, laid-back sound influenced by classic American songs from the 1040’s and ‘50’s.

Free First Friday takes place the first Friday of every month through May, with free admission and activities 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. First Friday’s are generously underwritten by Helene Galen and sponsored by JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, Babe’s Bar–B –Que & Brewhouse, and The Venue Sushi & Sake Bar.
