Most Wanted – Sheer Desire

Lisa Rovito Interior Design, Real Estate

Formed by hand from 3mm acrylic, this side table suggests the smooth drape of a tablecloth — without
a table in sight. John Brauer’s Illusion Table is handcrafted in Denmark for Essey and each is unique. Simple yet highly clever, the table stands alone as a magical expression of the many avenues of furniture design still open to pursuit. For a table that measures only 16 inches by 18 inches — several can be clustered as a coffee table — and is made of an almost invisible material, it achieves the look-at-me power of a gargantuan dining table in Day-Glo orange. Fortunately, it’s available only in clear ($235) and white ($260)
in the United States.

The company also makes it in gray (shown), brown, and red.
