El Paseo blossomed in the color of pink for the ninth annual Desert Cancer Foundation’s Paint El Paseo Pink walk and fundraiser on Oct. 10 in Palm Desert.

Individuals and teams were encouraged to dress in pink and walk the El Paseo Shopping District starting from The Gardens on El Paseo. More than 1,200 people were expected to participate in the event.

KPSP television personality Pattie Daly Caruso and Palm Desert City Council member Jan Harnik served as event co-emcees.

Proceeds from the event benefitted the Desert Cancer Foundation Suzanne Jackson Breast Cancer Fund, which provides breast cancer screenings and diagnostics for the uninsured and underinsured men and women in the Coachella Valley.

The fund is named in honor of Jackson, a former LPGA tournament director who resided part-time in the desert and passed away from breast cancer.
