Over 500 participants signed up to run, walk or jog the USATF-certified course for Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert's first annual fundraiser, The Galen New Year's Resolution 5K. Main sponsors for the event included Helene Galen, Harold Matzner and Donna MacMillan; supporting sponsors included Cliff Bar, California Pizza Kitchen, EZ 103.1, Eagle 106.9, FG Creative, KMIR 6, Lee & Associates, Palm Springs Life, Signature Party Rentals, and Sotheby's International Realty, among others. Manny The Movie Guy and Bob Bogard hosted as emcee's followed by the Hive Minds Bands during the awards ceremony and 5k celebration. Canine participants were welcomed and treated with goodies from Ambrosia Pet Deli and a commemorative 5k bandana.
