Discover the restorative powers of the desert’s mineral springs. Greater Palm Springs draws spa lovers from around the globe, offering ample sunshine, fabulous weather, and world-famous curative waters.

Whether you like your body rubbed with hot oil and stones, scrubbed with date sugar, or wrapped in soothing aloe, Greater Palm Springs spas have one thing in common: They transport you into a state of sheer bliss.

Built on a large underwater mineral springs aquifer, Desert Hot Springs has been dubbed by some travelers as “the healing mineral springs capital of California.” This colorful city offers more than 20 boutique resorts and hotels, most of which feature spas, pools, and Jacuzzis bubbling with therapeutic water from natural hot mineral springs that percolate from fissures deep inside the earth, then cooled to a comfortable temperature. Submerse in clear, rich mineral waters and rejuvenate yourself from head to toe. Added benefits include increased circulation and chronic pain relief.

From whimsical Moroccan retreats and Spanish hacienda-style inns draped with colorful bougainvillea to carefully restored midcentury modern gems, find a Desert Hot Springs mineral water spa sanctuary that fits your needs and lifestyle.

The area is also home to the wildly popular annual spa tour — a fun and experiential evening where major mineral water spa facilities throughout Desert Hot Springs open their doors to the public for tours and hospitality. Produced by Desert Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce, Cabot’s Pueblo Museum, and the Hoteliers Association, Desert Hot Springs Spa Tour takes place Feb. 7. Begin your adventure at 4 p.m. with complementary wine, beer, and a reception at Cabot’s Pueblo Museum, a landmark homestead built in the 1920s by desert pioneer Cabot Yerxa. Then visit various spas via premium motor coach, or make your own way with a supplied map of all the participating spas.

Last year, a host of resorts opened their doors including Two Bunch Palms Resort & Spa, Aqua Soleil, Desert Hot Springs Spa Resort, Tuscan Springs Hotel & Spa, El Morocco Inn & Spa, A Sea Mountain Nude Resort Spa, Club, and Hotel, Living Waters Clothing-Optional Mineral Water Spa, Miracle Springs Resort & Spa, Nurturing Nest, The Spring Resort & Spa, and others.
