PALM SPRINGS

Tyler’s Burgers: Since 1996, these unfussy burgers have been satisfying diners in the heart of La Plaza. Options include all the standards as well as turkey, veggie, and a bunless “Somersized” rendition, named for local celebrity and wellness guru Suzanne Somers.

DESERT HOT SPRINGS

Dad’s Burgers: This family-owned burger business has grown a loyal following for its small but mighty menu of juicy burgers, including a hefty Hot Cheetos option. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for pop-up hours and delivery availability.

CATHEDRAL CITY

Tony’s Burgers: Sure, this local restaurant whips up more options than meat between buns, but when it comes to burgers, they’re notorious for stacked patties and generous toppings. Fresh-cut fries make the perfect pairing.

RANCHO MIRAGE

In-N-Out: A California staple since 1948, the West Coast chain serves up a minimalist menu focusing on made-to-order burgers, hand-cut fries, and thick milkshakes. Order off the not-so-secret menu.

PALM DESERT

Grill-A-Burger: Named one of the top 10 burger joints in the country by Trip Advisor, there’s hardly a better place to sink your teeth into a gourmet burger. Their handcrafted patties and flavorful toppings combine to ensure a winner for every palate. They also serve hot dogs and various scratch-made sides.

INDIAN WELLS

Eureka!: Made with Santa Carota carrot-fed Angus beef and served atop brioche buns, the burgers at this popular eatery can be elevated with fig marmalade, bacon-infused jalapeño jam, spicy charred Fresno chiles, and 28-day dry-aged bone marrow.

LA QUINTA

RD RNNR Libations, Pints & Plates: The only thing better than eating a cheeseburger is eating a cheeseburger paired with a cold draft beer on a patio. At this lively Old Town La Quinta hangout, you can have it all.

INDIO

In-N-Out: If you eat burgers and have never been to In-N-Out, it’s time to crawl out from under that rock you’ve been living under and try a Double-Double — ask for it “animal style.”

COACHELLA

Augustine Casino: The signature burger at Café 54 at Augustine Casino comes with bacon on a jalapeño bun. Another option comes with bleu cheese and onion jam. Bonus: You can test your luck at the slots while you’re here.
