Dr. Lanny Seese and Mark Miller opened their fabulous home in Palm Springs to host a benefit for the Motion Picture Hall of Fame. The master of ceremonies was radio station EZ 103's Dan McGrath. The by invitation affair was attended by more than 100 guests and featured a silent auction with several items of art, movie memorabilia, and more. The magical evening was enhanced by a tribute to Esther Williams  and a performance by members of the United States Synchronized Swim Team. Music entertainment was provided by local artist Michael D'Angelo accompanied by Abie Perkins. Karen Kramer announced the upcoming Motion Picture Hall of Fame Stanley Kramer Film Festival to be held in November at the Camelot Theater in Palm Springs. A surprise performance by Elvis aka Steve Connolly closed the evening.

The goal of the Motion Picture Hall of Fame is to open its first themed attraction in downtown Palm Springs, known as Hollywood East. It will honor and recognize individuals, movies and film scores for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of the motion picture industry. The funds raised will be used to secure a building that has already been identified in Palm Springs.
